Introduction
I have spent the last eighteen months or so socializing with and observing some of the most depraved and remorselessly cruel perverts imaginable. This, in short, is why I am now writing. Even though I am unsure at this stage what exactly these articles should look like, and how best the stories I have to tell should be told, I firmly believe they are worth telling. I am asking for some patience on the part of readers, and understanding that this is a new and relatively intimidating venture for me. I am good at pretending to be a weirdo to earn the trust of the people I have dealt with, this is going to be a challenge.
Those who fall under the zoosadist umbrella do not necessarily interact with one another as a whole, and for the most part maintain closed circles and cliques within those circles. They generally focus on a preference animal. On occasion, footage featuring the abuse of different species may feature on so called ‘mix tapes’, compiled for their shock value and to inspire those with sufficient morbid curiosity to seek them out. But as a rule, dog zoosadists do not intermingle with primate zoosadists, cat zoosadists occupy their own uniquely depraved space and so on. This is just a general outline of why I will use the term ‘primate zoosadist’ as an identifier for a unique niche apart from other subgroups.

Wikipedia, its many flaws noted, has recently acknowledged the existence of zoosadism as a paraphilia. It is a start, but awareness is still far from sufficient. In June 2023, the BBC uncovered a global monkey torture ring, where participants would produce and distribute videos of monkeys being hurt and killed.
To call this single sentence of coverage insufficient would be a tremendous understatement. It is also wildly inaccurate. Individuals involved in the infiltration of Telegram groups existed prior to the involvement of the BBC. This was a collaborative effort, in which Indonesian authorities were the most reluctant party, being pressed to secure the arrests of some of the worst creators of zoosadism content. Arrests since have seen Indonesian police departments claim the work of myself, NGO’s and other investigators as their own. That being said, as long as they are acting, and securing arrests, this is not something I would lose sleep over.
I would like to stress early on, whilst there are undoubtedly political aspects to what I have seen over the last two years, this is an issue that transcends politics for me and should serve as a rare instance of common ground in an increasingly fragmented and global world. This has sadly not always been the case, support is tremendously difficult to come by and platforms we have used to get information out have been threatened by third party elements, with their own motives.
Telegram has recently made headlines in mainstream news outlets as being curbed by new policies and rulings which will compel them to hand over user information. Buried among all the hysterical political charges Wired Magazine have levelled against Telegram is an acknowledgement of the platform being utilized to share child sexual abuse material (CSAM). There is no mention of the app being the go to platform for zoosadists. Rather, we see a smug and glowing joy following political dissident and Telegram founder Pavel Durov’s arrest in France.
The fact is, if the leading charge against Telegram were that it has failed to curb the networking of paedophiles and zoosadists, Facebook and YouTube and Discord would no doubt be cited as equal in guilt. Which they are. What sets Telegram apart is its presence outside the walled gardens of social media. Compromises made by Telegram to keep world governments at bay will not curb either zoosadist content or CSAM, as neither of these things have inspired the recent actions against Telegram.
Whilst Telegram has received publicity, the zoosadists who thrive on Telegram have not. There is simply no structural, institutional or widespread cultural response to what at this point amounts to a phenomena. On an individual level, people are appalled by the concept of animal torture pornography, institutionally speaking, the nature of this brand of criminality is relatively novel and there is a sense of authorities working out what exactly is happening and how to address it.
We will never see Telegram presented as a hotbed of zoosadist activity, in the same way we see it presented as the organizing space of anti democratic ‘far right’ riots. Journalism in this sense is entirely self serving and lends little hope to challenging the actual abuses of the platform. I want to write about this subject without an angle, without it being the vehicle for any wider political agenda. That YouTube, Facebook and Telegram have all lent themselves to the growth of the animal torture porn industry is not a political statement, it is a statement of fact. And none of the aforementioned platforms have even begun to think about this fact in any meaningful way.
YouTube in particular suppress channels that attempt to address this fact.
My own political convictions and feelings towards the BBC are entirely beside the point here; I strongly believe the BBC documentary ‘The Monkey Haters’ was a great achievement and would highly recommend it to anyone interested in knowing more about this subject. Sadly, YouTube saw it fit to age restrict this documentary, and targeted channels challenging primate zoosadism and YouTube’s facilitation of them for deletion. Primate abuse, particularly that of infant macaques, fuels what is no less than an industry at this stage. Algorithms which can root out the vaguest hint of comment section rule breaking fail to be implemented against ‘fake vet’ and ‘rescue’ channels, making animal abuse a profitable venture.
It does not appear to be a pressing moral question for YouTube whether content of this nature should be demonetized. And those who do attempt to press this question are either removed from the platform or kept on the fringes.
I would now like to delve into (perhaps I should have done this sooner) what exactly I mean by zoosadism and animal torture pornography.
What is Zoosadism?
For anyone who is entirely unfamiliar with this subject, zoosadism describes the abuse of animals for pleasure and is generally sexually motivated. It always describes pleasure derived from the abuse of a power dynamic, involving suffering inflicted upon animals. This cruelty is generally creative, prolonged and escalating in its brutality.
I want to avoid lurid details, in order to make this article accessible, however at times some degree of detail will be necessary simply to convey the gravity of an individuals behavior or the extent to which we have seen these people escalate. I will never include details for the sake of titillation or sensationalism, although be prepared that it may at times be a necessary evil.
I will be focusing here specifically on primate zoosadists, would like my writing to be an opportunity to take a look at the character and nature of primate zoosadists, and the uniquely depraved ways in which they distinguish themselves as a community. The bulk of my observations of and interactions with zoosadists have been with primate zoosadists. Whilst consumers of this content number into the multiple thousands, the people who really make it possible are few in numbers, it is a small world, and we infiltrators are even fewer in numbers.
With regards to Telegram, we are dealing with stories that are yet to be told, and situations still unfolding as I type.
Primate zoosadists generally describe themselves as ‘Monkey Haters’. The BBC adopted this misnomer as the title of their documentary. It served its purpose and no doubt caught the attention of viewers. And was less clunky than some of the names we would use to describe these people. I am not too sure ‘The Monkey Molesters’ could have been pitched as a television documentary concept, despite its accuracy.
What is meant by ‘Monkey Hate’ and why do I not use this term?
The concept of monkey hate reaches back to the early days of primate abuse content on YouTube, the years leading up to COVID-19. The narrative goes that infant macaques possess fundamentally ‘hateful’ qualities and are deserving of abuse and suffering. This is a kind of fantasy world building on the part of the zoosadist. It is extremely elaborate, those who cannot create content in the real world, will do so in extended written torture and abuse fantasy sequences.
For a while there was a trend on YouTube of abusive family channels being tremendously successful, Daddyofive being perhaps the best known. YouTube commenters enjoyed dogpiling an abused child and this became a means of participation in the abuse. A sort of anonymous outlet in which an otherwise ‘normal’ individual could just dabble in sadism from a safe distance. Primate abuse comments sections are of a similar energy, they will usually project human qualities onto the infant macaque, describing them as ‘brats’ who need to be ‘disciplined’ to correct their ‘tantrums’.
The so called ‘monkey hater’ often knows they are watching a contrived scene in which humans have interfered with an animal and filmed the aftermath, but for the sake of the fantasy they play along and talk of the baby monkey being a ‘revolting milk maggot’ whilst indulging in torture fantasies, often under their real names and photos. You’ll see anything from church-going Salvation Army volunteers to suburban “dog moms” describing the ways in which they’d like to mutilate the genitalia of baby monkeys, with unashamed, gleeful abandon. All openly, under their real world identities.
They have certain fixations. They delight in footage of infant macaques being domesticated and placed into the wild where they will be left vulnerable and unlikely to survive. This suffering can be filmed over the course of weeks, if not months. Angkor Wat is the notorious setting for much of this abuse, in which the VO’s (videographers/video operators) function as a sophisticated organized crime venture. We have one instance of a Cambodian torturing an infant macaque and suddenly disappearing, it was a line he was reluctant to cross and went on to regret. Not out of mercy for the animal, but likely that his colleagues would have been angered that he had overstepped some agreed upon mark and potentially lost them money.
They enjoy the humanization of infant macaques. Vietnamese YouTube channels pander to this interest. Accumulating millions of views, illegally domesticated infant macaques are kept in cages and let out for content, in which they are dressed as toddlers and forced to walk bipedal. These channels usually feature other animals, particularly ducklings, which are presumably killed and replaced by new ducklings as they grow. They possess a sort of ‘brain rot’ and Elsagate aesthetic, and the sheer quantities of this content is endless.
Finding non abusive macaque videos on YouTube is a challenge.
They fangirl over particular monkeys for periods of time, following them on YouTube and Facebook. They recognize them by face, the most recent celebrities being ‘Garina’ and ‘Pav Pav’. These monkeys are usually subject to prolonged abuse, allowing them to be milked for content, with the direct support of the social media platforms, which allow them to be monetized. Despite claiming to ‘hate’ these animals, they become a source of obsession to the viewer.
The sadistic joy with which these videos are received, the bizarre fetishist aspects of this content, is rarely indicative of hate. It is a compulsive, perverse engagement in a power play, in which unspeakable cruelty can be inflicted upon something that is made to resemble an infant human.
Finally we reach Indonesia and Telegram.
It is on Telegram that the paraphilia goes mask off and the brutality escalates to incomprehensible levels. The monkey hate myth falls apart here more than anywhere else.
We can take a look at court documents in which prominent ‘monkey hater’ Nicholas Dryden, describes his interactions with a child VO:
On or about April 3, 2023, Dryden sent [a WhatsApp] message in Indonesian to a 17-year old minor residing there:
'If you have your ID, there is $300 waiting for you at the Western Union near you. I should give you the tracking.'"
The VO expressed concern about the money trail and its possible traceability back to him:
"Listen, I'm new to this too," Dryden allegedly responded. "I don't feel good knowing this bank account in tied to our government's name."
"If you want to continue doing business with me, we need to find a new way to send money," Dryden added. "When will you turn 18 years old?"
Dryden allegedly advised the VO switch to using a personal bank account instead of using Western Union to receive cash:
"Just be honest with you bro, we should use Bitcoin or something like that since from the beginning, this shit is not the most legal thing," Dryden added.
By April 6, Dryden was ready to ask the VO to start producing a video:
"If you want to make more money with me, we should buy a baby monkey," Dryden allegedly told the VO.
Dryden began to express concern about production delays the following day:
Dryden: Bottom line, brother. Tell me if you could make this video tonight. Get an ordinary baby with a long tail and if you can, please try to make a good video tonight."
VO: Okay I will try. Now. I asked the monkey seller to deliver the baby monkey now.
Dryden: Okay, get the smallest and healthiest and when you get it, let me know. Please let me send a short video. Customers have been waiting for too long, we have to please them. Okay bro, I'm going to send you some ideas. Let's make good money again.
Apparently after receiving a preview movie, Dryden complimented the VO:
Dryden: So, this is the best video that you have ever made. I don't care. Go ahead and kill it. I'll buy another one tomorrow.
Dryden also guided the VO into how to produce the most effective and profitable videos:
"Yes, I'm taking up your time easily, brother. Don't rush it. Don't rush it," Dryden wrote. "I'm... I'm happy, not angry with you, I have no complaints. You did an amazing thing, protect it. Bro, you're a cool guy. Cool friend. We make more money by producing."
On April 8, the final video was sent from the VO to Dryden. Court documents reveal the animal crush video was 30:20 long and started with a piece of paper displaying the words "Niko Bellic" on it, followed by various acts of torture including burning the genitals and anus of the baby monkey.
Just one day later, Dryden was ready for the next video, communicating with the VO:
Dryden: Can you get a very small, long tail today? The smallest one that you could find.
VO: I'll find it for you today.
Dryden: And for some reason customers want you to put diapers on a monkey. I don't like this customer, but he pays well.
Dryden: Okay don't worry about the "APE" today. Only get a long tailed. This customer is asking you to put diapers on a baby monkey and get the smallest diapers you can find. This customer is the best. He pays the most. So, it will be good to do what he says. He also sent me some ideas too. Tell me the approximate time when the baby monkey will arrive and when the video is ready.
On April 10, Dryden reminded the VO about what to include in the newest video:
"When making the video, make the other one watch the other monkey getting tortured," Dryden allegedly wrote. "Seodn me a photo of the second baby. He said he wants you to put diapers on it. I don't know why. But this is what he asked for. He is weird — he kept asking me that."
That customer appears to have been Giancarlo Morelli of New Jersey, who has also been charged in this case.
There are many stories to be told about Nicholas Dryden (Nico Bellic), and no doubt there will be as these articles progress. In the above exchange we see him catering to one of his co-conspirators very specific fetishes, tight diapers. It is at this point we start getting to the heart of what motivates these people. They will endlessly deny there being any perverse or sexual motive to their interest in these animals, yet time and time again we see evidence to the contrary.
One of the most common fantasies on Telegram is having the infant macaque abused in front of ‘Mommy’. Nicholas Dryden and his seventeen year old VO, Sebastian Fiqri, delivered on this fantasy repeatedly. Fiqri, over the course of several months, delighted in the most brutal torture imaginable. His squalid basement being described as a torture dungeon by his fans on Telegram. The same fans scrambled to delete these videos from their archives upon discovering the US authorities were treating them as CSAM due to Fiqri being a minor at the time of filming. Despite his exposure, Fiqri continues to work publicly with animals, with the support of those around him.
Human terms like ‘Mommy’ and ‘baby’ are commonly used in general conversation between primate zoosadists. They adore the idea of the VO forming a bond with the animal, developing a level of trust before going on to torture it. This fantasy of developing trust and the subsequent breaking of trust, the focus on diapers, weaning and terminology usually associated with human infants are all recurring themes on Telegram.
We witnessed one VO talk about he slept with baby monkeys in between torture ‘sessions’.
To summarize, the most successful YouTube content is produced in Cambodia and Vietnam. The most brutal is produced in Indonesia, and is generally shared on Telegram. It is on Telegram where I have spent the bulk of my time and built a vast archive of chatlogs, documenting the behavior and interactions of these people. I believe this may be the biggest archive of zoosadist activity ever created. And it is still growing.
Joining Arditi
Given a space here, I would like to talk about my experiences on Telegram, and hope I have given enough context and background that even those entirely new to the subject will have a better idea of the nature of this situation, and why we despair at big tech when it comes to tackling the production and distribution of zoosadism content.
The abuse we see on YouTube escalates to a mind bending, heinous extent once the consumer reaches Telegram. Escalation is a keyword here. YouTube is the gateway and involvement begins for many primate zoosadists. The speed at which the zoosadist becomes acclimatized and desires new content is startling. Shock value wears thin at an alarming rate and they soon want more.
I have been fortunate enough to make connections with people who really understand what motivates zoosadists, and the importance of knowing their weaknesses and vulnerabilities. I had a kind of introduction to what I was going into before I went in, which equipped me mentally and emotionally. I worked my way into Telegram by degrees, with the support of others who knew that world better than me, and with consistent guidance and outside input. I would not advise anyone attempt to do anything like this alone, it is depressing and there are days in where it takes its toll. As a network, we get by on a kind of gallows humor, or just taking the time to check in just to make sure everyone is managing.
But above all else, I dislike zoosadists. This disdain for these people and what they do is enough to keep me going.
As a series of journal type articles, I intend to cover the ways into which primate zoosadism is adjacent to other paraphilias, in particular ‘hurtcore’ content. I have already hinted at this here, but there is much more to be said. I will also be looking at the organization of groups and the social structure formed over time by primate zoosadists on Telegram. There may also be scope to take a look at primate zoosadists who have been arrested and sentenced at the time of these articles being written.
As explained, I am not a writer, and I am not entirely certain about how exactly these articles will take form. If there is anything I can elaborate on, or any points that readers would like me to expand upon, I will do my best. For now we are at the edge of the abyss, and will be gazing in over time. This is an ugly subject, which will deal with heinous evil. I am enthusiastic about the prospect of finding people here who are in agreement that striving to shed light on this evil is a worthwhile endeavor.
